With a career in the marine industry spanning nearly two decades, Justin Parkins brings a depth of real-world maritime experience to the Nordhavn team. Growing up in North Idaho, he was drawn to the water from an early age from summers spent on Lake Coeur d’Alene. It was the experiences had on the lake that sparked a lifelong appreciation for adventure on the water.

He began his professional career in 2008 aboard small passenger vessels on the Columbia River and in Southeast Alaska. After his first season in Alaska, it became clear that life at sea was more than a job, it was a calling. Over the next 15 years, he worked throughout the Americas on a wide variety of vessels, including small expedition cruise ships, private yachts, and tugboats.

After relocating to Anacortes, Washington in 2016, he entered yacht brokerage in 2019, bringing with him a captain’s perspective at a time when demand for capable, long-range cruising vessels was rapidly growing.

During the early days of the pandemic, Justin made the decision to transition shoreside, prioritizing time with family while continuing his involvement in the marine world.

His brokerage approach is rooted in firsthand experience as both Mate and Master on vessels up to 240 feet. He understands not only the dream of ownership, but also the operational realities that come with it. Clients benefit from his practical insight, whether identifying the right vessel, planning passages, developing maintenance strategies, or refining boat handling skills. His goal is to provide clarity and confidence at every stage of boat purchasing and ownership so owners can cast off the lines and head for the horizon.

Outside of the office, he enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with his family and doing activities such as skiing, biking, and hiking whenever possible.
