The 2008 Dusseldorf Boat Show opened in grand style on Saturday as eager Nordhavn aficionados arrived to inspect a beautifully presented Nordhavn 47. 2008 is the third year that Nordhavn Europe has exhibited a boat in this gigantic show and the momentum and recognition of the Nordhavn name is building on the European continent.
In 2006, a Nordhavn 40 was displayed and last year a Nordhavn 43. In logical progression, 2008 now sees the presentation of the next larger model, the beautiful Nordhavn 47.
Day one of the show was very exciting as the display boat, N47 hull #51 was sold to a gentleman from Norway. Bjorn Eidem, a prominent businessman from Oslo . Mr. Eidem has been following the Nordhavn story for quite some time and was aware that hull #51 , which had been built for the show , was available for purchase. Negotiations were completed on Saturday afternoon and there were smiles all around as we talked about the exciting future of his new boat. Bjorn and his family plan to cruise the waters of Norway and might even make a call on the port of Nordhavn – the namesake of our line of boats.
The Dusseldorf Boat Show runs from January 19 through January 27.
