Overview
“Wanderer” is a turnkey little ship that is ready to leave tomorrow on your next adventure. She has been highly maintained by her owner who has done upgrades every year since purchasing. “Wanderer” is one of the best equipped 43s available over the past several years.
This boat comes complete with many redundant systems such as the ABT stabilizers and paravanes that provide backup for continued offshore comfort, and has a range of 3,000 nautical miles. She also has a long list of spares to keep the boat in top notch shape while cruising.
Specifications
Tour of the Boat:
Entering from one of aft deck doors you will find a nicely sized deck area perfect for a couple of chairs and a small table. There is also access to the Portuguese bridge from the walkway on the starboard side for use while docking. Additionally on the back deck there is a built-in seat which also stores an additional anchor. Access to the main salon & galley area is through the oversized Dutch door which provides ventilation without having the whole door open.
Salon & Galley:
As you enter the salon you will immediately notice the great layout that combines sitting areas aft while being able to converse with anyone in the well laid out galley. There is a large L-shaped settee to starboard and an adjustable table that easily sits six for dinner. There is an additional settee on the port side. All of the upholstery was upgraded and new in 2022 (Ultraleather). Just forward of the starboard settee as you work forward you will find a washer/dryer combo tucked away in a hidden cabinet with a flat screen TV above.
At the forward end of the salon, you will see granite countertops along with a full galley. The galley features a 3-burner Force 10 propane stove with oven, a deep double sink, GE Monogram trash compactor, a small freezer along with a wine rack. There is also a new Isotherm two-drawer refrigerator just outside the galley.
Pilothouse:
Moving forward up into the pilothouse is the command center for the boat which includes a complete array of electronics along with the ship’s power control panel. Behind the ship’s wheel is a Pompanette Platinum Series helm chair for use while piloting *newly refurbished in December 2023. Aft in the pilothouse is a settee with a table and an expandable off watch berth just above it. On each side of the pilothouse there is a Dutch door. Moving down a staircase at the forward starboard side of the pilothouse are the staterooms.
Owner’s Stateroom:
At the base of the stairway, we find the owner’s stateroom amidships which is the lowest and most comfortable stateroom to be in while being underway offshore. It includes a full beam cabin including a private ensuite head. It features a full queen bed, two hanging lockers and drawers under the berth. Back in the ensuite is a nice vanity along with the toilet and stand-up shower. The shower is molded in fiberglass for easy cleaning.
Guest Stateroom:
Moving forward from the base of the stairs you will find yourself in the guest stateroom which features a double sized berth to port with a library and desk area to starboard. At the forward end of the stateroom there is a guest head that features a toilet, vanity and shower.
Engine Room:
The engine room is accessed through a door in the main bulkhead at the aft end of the owner’s stateroom. This is a stand-up engine room offering easy access to the main & wing engines plus the generator for maintenance purposes. Additionally, on the port side is a well laid out fuel manifold, along with fuel filters that can be changed on the fly.
Exterior Deck Features:
Foredeck:
Just forward of the pilothouse bridge is the foredeck which features a double bow roller with custom SS chain stopper for the Maxwell VWC 3500 windlass. There are also both fresh and salt water washdown spigots, two storage lockers as well as a set of dorades for ventilation below decks.
Top of Pilothouse:
The top of the pilothouse is where the solar panels are located along with the array for one of the two radar units.
Boat Deck:
Just aft of the pilothouse is the boat deck which also doubles as a great sun deck. Located here is the ship’s mast & rigging for the passive stabilizer system (paravanes) and tender storage area. The tender is raised and lowered on either side of the boat with the boom.
