Emmy Award winning filmmaker and owner of Hole In The Wall Productions, Sprague Theobald will discuss his trip through the Northwest Passage at The Explorers Club in New York on September 12, 2011 with a 6:00PM check-in and the lecture starting at 7:00PM.
Aboard his own Nordhavn ‘57’ Trawler “Bagan”, Mr. Theobald and his crew were the first production powerboat in history to complete the 8500 mile Northwest Passage.
Having amassed more than 45,000 offshore miles, he felt the passage was the last nautical challenge.
Mr. Theobald will share his trip along the Passage and an account of the evidence they encountered from the lost Franklin Expedition of 1845. He will present a keynote viewing some of the 1500 still pictures taken during the voyage.
He has been featured in several magazines including: ‘Motor Boating’, ‘Blue Water Sailing’, and ‘Passage Maker’.
Mr. Theobald has completed a book which will be published in 2012 by Sky Horse Publishing.
