After much anticipation, construction of the first Nordhavn 51 is underway. Hull #1 is currently in the initial lamination stage with the outermost layer of the boat now completed. Built at Telgeren & Partners yacht yard in Turkey, crews will continue to work on the inaugural hull, which will remain in the mold the next two weeks for completion of lamination and the addition of the hull stringers. The first three N51s are expected to complete by year’s end, said Jim Leishman, vice president of Pacific Asian Enterprises.
With 26 hulls reserved, the Nordhavn 51 is on track to match the popularity of her little sister, the N41, also built by Telgeren & Partners at their newly located Istanbul yard. “I believe the 51 will be as well received as the 41 – if not more so, because the 41 has proven concept,” Leishman said. The N51 mimics the Nordhavn 41’s hull form, twin engine configuration and utilization of in-house computational fluid dynamics technology, all of which have been put to the test. The N41’s success also validates the capabilities and craftsmanship of PAE’s newest partner factory.
Considerable investment has been put into upgrading the Telgeren facility, which has sought to double manpower as well as capacity by adding two huge new spaces specifically for segregated lamination and assemblage. Leishman said this will help meet the demand for the highly coveted models, adding that the yard expects to ramp up to full production in 2023.

Excellent!
Are there any updates to the design that was posted over 2.5 years ago? Changes to the specifications?
Wow it is so cool to see the first hull being announced and production underway. Given the supply chain and Covid restriction challenges what you have achieved is a testimony to this new partnership and the continued reliability of the Nordhavn brand. We feel so privileged to be getting hull #1………. What seemed like a dream is fast becoming a reality. Mark and Fiona…down under in Wellington New Zealand.
Hey Mark and Fiona,
I’ve been following the N52 and stoked you are getting or have got the first one. I am also in Wellington, I’d love to take a walk by when she arrives. Where will she live?
This is wonderful news. What, if any, impact do you anticipate resulting from the roving power and gas shutdowns now imposed in Turkey? You now have both the 41 and 51 in production.
