The current queen of the Nordhavn fleet, the Nordhavn 76, has finished commissioning and will be delivered to her owners in Victoria, BC today. With so many of the finest components being standard on this boat and installed at the factory, it took the Dana Point commissioning team just 8 weeks to finish the boat off.
She underwent a shakedown to Catalina Island over the holiday weekend and now prepares for her maiden voyage: a 1,200 nm trip up the West Coast. The new owners, who traded in their Nordhavn 62 for the new 76, can’t wait to use their new vessel. After inspecting the boat when it was offloaded in San Diego this spring, they confidently left it in the hands of PAE to be finished perfectly and delivered to them for their summer cruising plans.
Perfect is a good way to describe this boat, said PAE President Dan Streech. “What’s most striking about this boat is that in actuality, it is mostly a standard boat.” Without the owners having to put much thought into it, this 76 turned out complete and decadent. “This highlights how nice the boat itself is.”
With a triple deck layout, huge foredeck, and three outside entertaining areas, the lines of the 76 are instantly impressive. Inside, her rich woods, granite and top-of-the-line appliances bathe her owners in luxury.
