Some Nordhavns will be marking the New Year in style with a fun affair kiwi-style. The New Zealand Welcomes Voyaging Nordhavns party is a multi-layered celebration which marks the Nordhavn 46 Egret’s arrival to New Zealand after a two-year tour that began in Gibraltar. For New Zealand fans of Nordhavns, it’s the largest public display of Nordhavns gathered in the South Pacific. Enthusiasts of Nordhavn and of nordhavn.com will instantly recognize Scott and Mary Flanders from their log reports on the Voyage of Egret section, but they’ll also identify Roger, Joan and Kimberly Allard who, on their N55 New Paige, have spent the past few months buddy boating with the Flanders since meeting up with them near Tahiti. (The Allards departed from Mexico early this past summer.)

Aside from meeting and hearing from these intrepid explorers, party attendees will be able to climb on their boats, as well as a third Nordhavn, the 47-foot Southern Star. It’s an opportunity any serious Nordhavn aficionado based in the Auckland area will not want to miss.
The soiree will be hosted by Nordhavn’s Australian affiliate along with the esteemed Pacific Rim magazine Pacific Motor Yacht, which has given extensive coverage to the Flanders’ travels. The event is open to the public, but response is mandatory. If you are interested in attending, please contact the Nordhavn Australasia office at +61 (0) 419 760 258 or e-mail Sales Manager Peter Devers at peter@nordhavn.com.au. We’d love to see you there.
