LAST CALL The single longest running model currently in the Nordhavn lineup is none other than the Nordhavn 62, and rightly so. It simply exudes the hardy North Sea trawler style that Nordhavn was founded upon. First produced in 1993, it was the follow-up design to Jeff Leishman’s history-making Nordhavn 46, the model that not only launched Nordhavn but started the successful trend of expeditionary yachts and offered a new segment to the boating market.
Throughout her esteemed tenure, the N62 has readily proved her mettle, and during that time she has earned a cult-like following, even when newer Nordhavn designs threatened her status. Her popularity perhaps reached a pinnacle last summer as cruising enthusiasts around the world followed the saga of two Nordhavn 62s and a Nordhavn 68 on the Great Siberian Sushi Run, a well-documented journey that took the three boats from Seattle to Japan (via the Bering Sea) and beyond. There are many adventures like these in the Nordhavn history books that took place on board the N62. Will yours be next?
