Calling all Nordhavn fans! Due to COVID, the International Yacht & Aviation Awards (IYAA) ceremony was pushed back to Friday, August 20. To accommodate for this change, IYAA organizers have allowed for an additional week of voting for the best new boat and aviation designs of 2020-2021. The Nordhavn 41 is up for best overall design and best interior at the IYAA awards.
We appreciate every single person who has cast their vote for the Nordhavn 41. The thanks we have for all those who support our brand is immeasurable. If you have not had the opportunity to vote, you may do so at https://www.thedesignawards.co.uk/iya-voting/. Voting will open tomorrow at 12:00 pm BST (7:00 am on the US East Coast) and run through Wednesday, August 18 at 5:00 pm BST (12:00 pm on the US East Coast). Only one round of voting per person is permitted so if you already cast your vote during the earlier session, you won’t be allowed to re-vote. (Votes must be cast for every category so please allow for several minutes to complete the process.)
The Nordhavn 41 is up for top honors in the Under 20 Meter category. “I’m thrilled the N41 is being recognized,” said Nordhavn’s Chief of Design, Jeff Leishman. “There’s a lot of work that goes into designing a small boat. In some ways it’s more complicated than the bigger boats.” For Leishman, the trick was designing an ocean-crossing yacht that met the requirements of a CE Certification (Category A). The standards are a lot stricter now than they were 20 years ago when Leishman created the Nordhavn 41, and is why currently there are so few smaller yachts that earn the Category A level, the most stringent level of CE Certification.
