After spending the past 5 ½ years cruising up and down the east coast, Rochelle and Jason Loeb took the first step toward a westbound itinerary by transiting the Panama Canal earlier this week. They are currently anchored “in the Pacific” with fantastic views of Panama City out the windows of their Nordhavn 57 Alliance. Rochelle said going through the Canal was a fantastic experience. They are hoping to reach California by next summer.
Not only is it the first time for the Loebs in west coast waters on their boat, it is the first for the boat itself, which previously took part in the Nordhavn Atlantic Rally (NAR) and then the Nordhavn Atlantic Passage (NAP), spent over a year cruising Europe and made two Atlantic crossings, and has remained on the right coast ever since.
“Our dream is to cruise in Japan for a few years, then explore Asia for a while,” said Rochelle. “We would love to bring her back to Ta Shing for a reunion one day!”
