Voting is now open for the 2014 International Yacht and Aviation Awards (IYAA) and the architecture team at Nordhavn are hopeful their design of Nordhavn 120#1 Aurora will garner them their first international super yacht design award. Aurora was shortlisted as an IYAA finalist in the category of Best Exterior Design and Styling for power yachts over 30 metres. The public are invited to cast their vote for their favorite design by clicking here; polls are open through May 7. The Nordhavn 120’s naval architect, Jeff Leishman, was recently profiled by the staff at Design et al, which sponsors the awards.
In February, Nordhavn 120#1 Aurora was named a finalist in the 2014 International Yacht and Aviation Awards (IYAA), the second consecutive nod she’s received for design excellence. The IYAA nomination came just a week after Aurora was named to the list of finalists at the World Superyacht Awards, where she’s competing for Best New Yacht in the Under 500 GT category.
Aurora is actually up for three awards this year. In addition to the World Superyacht nom, she’ll be vying at the IYAAs for Best Exterior Design and Styling courtesy of Jeff Leishman, PAE’s Chief of Design, and his team, as well as for Best Interior Design. She was shortlisted in that category after Interior Designer Destry Darr of Destry Darr Designs received a nomination last week.
“It is absolutely thrilling for us to be recognized for our achievements,” said Leishman. “Aurora is a very special yacht, the culmination of a huge effort by a huge team of people. We are pleased that the world is being exposed to how exceptional she is.”
The International Yacht and Aviation Awards is sponsored by leading interior design magazine, Design et al. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony in London this May.
