Nordhavn 2026 Taco Run

Departing Ensenada, the fleet will make a ~60–70 hour run to Bahia Santa Maria or Bahia Magdalena. Santa Maria is generally the easier option for nighttime entry. If arriving during daylight, the plan is to continue into Magdalena Bay and anchor in the lee of the small town in the northwest corner—an ideal spot to relax and explore (high tide is best for mangrove exploring).

We’ll plan to spend a couple of days here, with a very casual Nordhavn-hosted lunch and dinner ashore. We’re also kicking around the idea of a drinks/appetizers competition before dinner—more to come on that.

From Mag Bay, it’s approximately a 24-hour run down to the southern tip of the peninsula, including a pass by the Cabo San Lucas arches for photos. Dockage in Cabo San Lucas or San José can be limited for a group this size, so reservations are a must if you plan to stop. Puerto Los Cabos (San José) is typically the preferred option.

Most of the fleet will continue roughly 70 miles north and east to Ensenada de Los Muertos (Bay of Dreams), a well-protected anchorage with good shelter from northerlies.

From there, you’re into the Sea of Cortez with endless options—La Paz marinas, anchorages, or continuing north. If the weather is good, take your time and enjoy it. If not, it’s about an 18-hour run to Marina Puerto Escondido (Loreto), which will be the final destination for most.

The goal is to wrap things up before Thanksgiving, but as always, flexibility is key since weather and boats tend to write their own schedule.

We are planning a closing event at the new beach club in Puerto Escondido, where PAE will host drinks, dinner, and some fun awards for boats finishing around the same time.
