One of the nicest Nordhavn 57s ever built is now up for sale. The sleek-lined Nordhavn 57 was a popular model in her day and hull number 37, one of the last ones built, is a gem of a boat seeking new ownership. When you combine a superbly pristine interior with a meticulous maintenance record, and an extensive equipment list, you’ve got No Plans, quite possibly be the nicest N57 on or off the market today.
There are many unique qualities about No Plans that make her so special – not the least of which is her same-owner ownership history. When her original owners purchased her in 2005, they fell in love. Just entering retirement, the couple jumped into their golden years with both feet and cruised the boat all over the world including the Caribbean, the east coast of the U.S., the Med and Hawaii, putting 30,000 nm under her well-cared-for keel. Now, on the cusp of 15 years of adventures at sea, they are ready to dial back and stick closer to home, and so they’ve decided to sell their beloved No Plans.
And these are the type of people you want as your boat’s former owners. The word “particular” comes to mind when considering how thorough they were with their boat’s upkeep. Our videographer and photographer Doug Harlow, who recently shot the boat, has been on board a lot of brokerage Nordhavns and even he could not believe the condition of the boat. The fabrics, stone, cushions, carpeting, showers looked virtually brand new by his estimation, and most certainly not of a boat that has traveled as extensively as No Plans.
While her wear and tear doesn’t correlate to her passagemaking stats, her equipment certainly does. This boat comes with an extensive hydraulics package. “That’s a huge feature when you are talking about traveling long distances,” said her salesman Paul Hutton. Another nice feature is her wide-body, two-cabin layout which equates to a huge saloon and two large, comfortable staterooms offering plenty of airy, open spaces – another extended cruising must-have.
Currently lying in Hawaii, No Plans is scheduled to receive new bottom paint next week.
She is slated to be delivered to Dana Point, CA in mid-summer if she doesn’t sell in Hawaii, but we certainly don’t expect her to be available for long. Said Hutton: “This is the boat that patient market watchers are waiting for.”
