Sea trials on the Nordhavn 59 Coastal Pilot have been completed and Pacific Asian Enterprises (PAE)’s design and engineering team couldn’t be more thrilled. Final adjustments to the boat are being made but initial tests revealed the N59 CP performed superbly while underway. PAE’s engineering manager also noted she will easily hit original speed predictions.
“The boat is very quiet, has a good flat running angle, steers very nicely,” said PAE Vice President Jim Leishman. “We couldn’t be more pleased.”
Although the interior remains unfinished and unstyled, free of carpeting and window coverings, it is evident even in its blank state just how lovely a living space has been created. Horizontal wood grain, white cushions and countertops and an artfully installed glass tile backsplash in the galley create the ultimate cozy-yet-contemporary feel to the boat.
“I’m really happy about this boat,” said Leishman. “It will be a fantastic complement to our current line.”
Hull #1 will spend the next few weeks at the factory being fine-tuned before shipping to Nordhavn’s headquarters in Dana Point, CA, where it will be finished off and ready for inspection. Numerous contracts are pending on the N59 CP already.
