Project Manager Justin Zumwalt recently returned from a trip to the Ta Shing factory to inspect the progress on the very first Nordhavn 68 hull and said he is extremely happy with how the boat is shaping up.
The hull was just released from the mold and now factory techs are in the process of installing engines, generators, fuel tanks, water tanks and the like. “It looks great,” Justin said.
Construction remains right on track for transport of the boat to our Dana Point headquarters around Thanksgiving.
The boat is similar in hull form to the Nordhavn 64, yet it has the more “trawler-styled” aft pilothouse layout reminiscent of the Nordhavn 46, which pioneered the market. “I think people are really going to like this boat when they see it.”
A huge and capable yacht, buyers are opting for the Nordhavn 68 because it gives them the space they need, yet is still manageable without a captain.
