Dana Point, Calif.—(September 24, 2003)—Pacific Asian Enterprises has named Ft. Lauderdale as the official departure port for the Nordhavn Atlantic Rally 2004. The fleet will gather at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center during the week of May 10-16, 2004, before the smaller boats depart on May 17 and the larger boats on May 18 for Leg 1 to Bermuda.
“Ft. Lauderdale is an ideal departure port,” said Jim Leishman, vice president of Pacific Asian Enterprises. “A complete range of supplies and services, as well as the airport, are all very close. The Bahia Mar Yachting Center offers a great deal in both amenities and event experience.”
To date, P.A.E. has received inquiries from more than 80 boat owners who would like to participate in the event and will soon select the final participants. Rally participation will be limited in order to ensure that the fleet receives the most effective on-the-water support possible.
