This past weekend kicked off the 38th Dusseldorf Boat Show and Nordhavn once again wowed the crowds. The first-ever CE-built Nordhavn 43 played host to hundreds who stood in long lines to view her. Towering over many other boats on display in the halls of the Dusseldorf fairgrounds, the Nordhavn 43 drew stares from boaters from all over Europe who had come to the show and hadn’t seen anything the likes of the beefy full displacement trawler.

Despite this being the company’s sophomore effort at Dusseldorf, Nordhavns remain a new concept. Sailboats continue to reign as passagemaking yachts in Europe. But with more and more Nordhavns being purchased and cruised in the Med and beyond, the Europeans are catching on. “Mainly people come on board out of curiosity,” said Nordhavn Europe’s Fiona Earle. “Most cannot believe how beautiful and especially spacious the boat is on the inside.”

Even the European press is excited about Nordhavn. The European launch of the N43 attracted more journalists and inquiries than the 40 received last year. “There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Nordhavn right now,” said Earle.

One such publication, Yacht and Boating World, raved about the 43 in a review of the Dusseldorf Boat Show this week, admitting that there was nothing else at the show that compared to the serious stature and heavy-duty nature of the Nordy. Click here

A key part of Nordhavn’s “buzz factor” is the Voyage of Egret being followed by folks all around the world right here on nordhavn.com. As the Dusseldorf show was getting underway this weekend, Egret, a Nordhavn 46, was busy rounding Cape Horn, becoming one of the first production powerboats ever to accomplish the feat
