This week marks the opening of PAE’s Southwest satellite office at Bellport Newport Harbor Shipyard in Newport Beach, California, which will cater predominantly to the bigger Nordhavns. The move was prompted by the steady dose of larger boats dominating the company’s production schedule, and which had become burdensome for the smaller slips at the docks at PAE’s headquarters in Dana Point Harbor, just 15 miles south of Newport Beach.

Nordhavns have been using the haul-out facilities at NHSY for 15+ years and commissioning of the larger boats has been done exclusively there. So to support the commissioning, and for ease of showing boats, a three-person sales office was established. Salesmen from the southwest office in Dana Point will take turns manning the Newport Beach office.

“We’re really excited about the new location,” said Josh Lloyd, P.A.E.’s controller. “It will be much easier for clients who want to come look at the larger Nordhavns. And Newport Beach will provide our boats the visibility they deserve.”

Currently P.A.E. has obtained three 80-foot slips. But it’s likely more, bigger slips will be obtained to make room for the N120.

Despite the focus on the larger boats, the Newport Beach office will still provide information and assistance to anyone seeking any size Nordhavn.
