The first-ever non-flybridge Nordhavn 68 has been launched, and we think she will be the first of many to come. Just a few modifications to the tooling resulted in a beautiful, sleek option to the standard flybridge Nordhavn 68.
The buyer of this N68 (hull #39) previously owned an N63, which does not include a flybridge, and asked us to build a bigger version of his boat. Jeff Leishman, Nordhavn’s Chief of Design, knew that with some minor adjustments, a non-flybridge deck could be applied to the existing N68 and N76 designs with relative ease.
Although the build approach to this new-style 68 was fairly straightforward, it was nonetheless challenging for the craftsmen at the Ta Shing factory to get it right on the first try. They exceeded expectations and turned out a yacht that matched the owners’ vision perfectly. “I simply could not be any happier with the look of the boat, it is absolutely amazing,” the owner said.
PAE’s design and engineering team is equally thrilled with what is effectively “hull #1” of the Non-FB Nordhavn 68. “We are all very proud of this boat,” said Project Manager Justin Zumwalt. “Never having done this before, it turned out beautifully.”
N68#39 is expected to ship to the UK in two weeks.
