On Sunday, while the rest of America recovered from too much turkey and shopping, the Nordhavn 86 was quietly being unloaded off a ship in San Diego en route to P.A.E. headquarters in Dana Point, CA.
It was three years in the making, but the wait for the three-story high fiberglass ship was worth the wait. “She is exquisite,” claimed P.A.E.’s president, Dan Streech. “We’ve made a great leap forward with the design and construction of this boat.”
With the arrival of the 86 comes the company’s firm entry into the superyacht market highlighted by the superior fit and finish of the vessel and its voluminous and luxurious interior. And when combined with Nordhavn seaworthiness, it’s no wonder the N86 is being touted as P.A.E.’s greatest design to date.
That’s the sentiment of the buyers of the first eight hulls who will get to see the finished boat in the water for the first time. It will remain in Dana Point to undergo final commissioning for about three months before her new owner sets sail on her. Prospective buyers can view the 86 by appointment.
